Warframe

Warframe is a cooperative third-person shooter video game, developed by Digital Extremes. Players control a member of the Tenno, ancient warriors who have awoken from centuries of cryosleep to find themselves in a war with the Grineer, a race of militarized humans, and the Corpus. The Tenno use advanced armor with unique properties, called Warframes in the war against the Grineer and Corpus.

In Warframe, up to 4 players work together to complete missions such as eliminating enemies or retrieving data from terminals. Players can carry a primary weapon (such as a rifle or shotgun), a secondary weapon (usually a pistol), and a melee weapon. Players are given XP (experience points) for killing enemies and completing missions, which allows them to level up their weapons and armor. Each Warframe has 4 different abilities that can be unlocked through the progression system. When equipment is leveled up, it will unlock mod slots, which can improve or add various stats of weapons and armor, as well as general stat bonuses.

Blacklight: Retribution

Blacklight: Retribution is a first-person shooter video game by Zombie Inc. Retribution is the sequel to Blacklight: Tango Down.

Blacklight: Retribution takes place in a science fiction setting and possesses a number of game types and maps. The game currently appears to have no single player other than training and practice mode, pitting players against AI or “bot” enemies. The game types are Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Domination (a ticket type of game), King of the Hill (objective capture), and Kill Confirmed (similar to Team Deathmatch except players collect tokens from their dead opponents and teammates for extra Combat Points). Siege Mode, where one team advances a Scorpion Tank through checkpoints into enemy territory, was added in August 2012. In March 2013, the Onslaught mode was added, in which players collect tokens to gain XP and GP.

Planetside 2

Across the continents of Auraxis, thousands of players will come together in enormous battles to win control of territory and resources for their empire in PlanetSide 2. This sequel takes all the groundbreaking features from the original massive multiplayer battles, distinctive empires to rally around, and enormous continents to support intense ground and air combat and adds features that modern gamers have come to expect out of the FPS and MMO genres.

DC Universe Online

The first project out of Sony Online’s Austin studio, this action-based MMO explores the various worlds of DC Comics’ superheroes and villains. Key collaborators include comic veterans Jim Lee (who serves as the game’s Executive Creative Director), Ale Garza, Carlos D’Anda, and Scott Iwahashi, in addition to EverQuest developers, Chris Cao and Shawn Lord.

A massively-multiplayer experience, DC Universe Online brings high-energy action to the forefront with a combat system designed to deliver a fast-paced action experience with the extraordinary powers of your personally created heroes and villains at your disposal. Battle with or against their favorite DC Super Heroes and Villains including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker. For the very first time, players and fans will be able to enter this fabled world as an active force for good or evil.

War Thunder

Outlast

In the remote mountains of Colorado, horrors wait inside Mount Massive Asylum. A long-abandoned home for the mentally ill, recently re-opened by the “research and charity” branch of the transnational Murkoff Corporation, has been operating in strict secrecy… until now.

Acting on a tip from an inside source, independent journalist Miles Upshur breaks into the facility, and what he discovers walks a terrifying line being science and religion, nature and something else entirely. Once inside, his only hope of escape lies with the terrible truth at the heart of Mount Massive.

Driveclub is a next-generation driving game from Evolution Studios featuring team-based racing.

Don’t Starve

Don’t Starve is an uncompromising wilderness survival game full of science and magic. You play as Wilson, an intrepid Gentleman Scientist who has been trapped by a demon and transported to a mysterious wilderness world. Wilson must learn to exploit his environment and its inhabitants if he ever hopes to escape and find his way back home.

Secret Ponchos

Secret Ponchos is the first offering from Switchblade Monkeys. It is an online Western top-down shooter that will make it’s debut on the PS4.

Recently, Ellen Page was part of a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread and was asked to comment on Naughty Dog supposedly using her likeness and putting it into the character of Ellie.

Page replied to the question with: “I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated.”

Sony focused a lot on the PS4 at E3 2013, but they also revealed a special package for GTA V fans in the form of a PS3 bundle.

The bundle is set to debut in retail stores on September 17th for $299.

What’s more, to complete the experience, Sony is also going to deploy a GTA V Pulse – Elite Edition headset that’s customized with colors and logos from the open world game. The device will be on sale in GameStop stores across North America according to PS blog.

DriveClub’s Design Director, Paul Rutchynsky, has clarified that the core game will be available and will include single player and multiplayer modes with additional cars and tracks available to purchase.

The F-1000 Arcade Stick is designed to give PS3 gamers the coin-op arcade feel and features an arcade-style eight-button layout with a four-axis ball-handled joystick.

In addition to the standard “Select” and “Start” buttons, the F-1000 boasts 13 buttons (including a Turbo button) for a total of 15.

A dozen of them correspond to buttons on a standard PS3 controller and have markings showing to which button they correspond to, making it easier for PS3 gamers to make the transition to the arcade stick.

The F-1000 also comes with a 3-meter long USB cable to make it easier to crush foes from hard to reach areas like the sofa. A one-meter extension cable also comes in the box.

The Genius F-1000 Arcade Stick is available in the US and Canada for $59.99.

For example, the C4 explosive has now been moved to the Recon class, while the Support class has access to some heavy grenade launchers, like the XM25 and the M32 MGL.

Furthermore, BF4 will now give gamers the ability to equip carbines and marksman rifles. This goes hand in hand with BF4′s specializations, where players can choose an offensive or defensive role.

Engineers can now equip a marksman rifle such as the M39 if they want to play a defensive role and keep their distance, or they can equip a carbine for more offensive purposes. Previously, carbines were restricted only to Engineers and marksman rifles only to Recons. Now players can mix and match between classes.

This new layout gives gamers much more freedom to perfectly tailor their class. A Support class can now equip a carbine and a dedicated grenade launcher, and the Assault class can equip a marksman rifle for long range combat. Furthermore, all classes can now equip different types of BF4 grenades.

Dedicated class weapons still remain the same. Sniper rifles will be available only for Recon, machine guns to Support, and so on.

A new addition to BF4 is the “Battle pickup” weapon. These are weapons that are placed strategically throughout the map and cannot be equipped by soldiers during spawn. The weapons, such as the powerful M82 .50 caliber sniper rifle, have to be picked up on the map by players.

On a good note, Santa Monica Studio and Ready At Dawn are working on a new PS4 exclusive called The Order: 1886.

Set in the Victorian era of London, The Order: 1886 takes place in an alternate history where technological advances take center stage in a battle against a powerful and ancient foe.

The game takes place nearly forty years after the Industrial Revolution, but unlike the actual one, the one in the game stems from mankind’s “desire to prevail in a centuries-old war.”

In the game, you are a knight in an ancient order, and while it takes place in an alternate history, players will interact with real-world historical characters who will aid them in their quest.

The gameplay will also be seamless, as there won’t be “any visual discrepancies or breaks in continuity between gameplay and cinematic.”
