When most people think of playing a video game at home they now think of the home consoles such as the PS3 and Xbox. These systems have allowed people to play games that would have only been available to people with high end PCs before, meaning that nearly anyone can now play their favourite games at home.

Something similar has happened to gambling at online casinos because of the internet as it has allowed more people to connect and play against each other. But there have always been gambling games on consoles with both games that are only about different casino games and also those that only have them in order to flesh out the world the game company was making.

If you were to ask people what their favourite casino game was most would probably say poker, it is one of the most popular games in the world and so it’s no surprise that there have been many games made around it. One of the most recent games announced was on the Xbox 360 and was called World Series of Poker: Full House Pro.This game is all about Texas Hold’em and its biggest tournament the World Series of Poker where people go around the world in order to compete against each other for millions in prize money. This is an online game where you can play against other real people in order get the real feeling of being a pro.

There are many other games however where gambling is not the focus but in order to add life to the world they add casino games in as something to do. Red Dead Redemption is a great example of this, because there are many bars all over the world where you can play games like BlackJack and Poker. GTA is another example, casinos played a massive part in San Andreas. GTA 4 saw Niko carrying round a mobile phone and so it wouldn’t be too surprising to see them combine the two and provide a Mobile Casino, offering the card games and such from there. But if slots are more your thing then you may want to check out Borderlands 2 where you play the slots in order to win money or weapons.

It also claims that gamers will be able to record-edit-share the footage with their friends and on social media websites. Another interesting thing to come out of that report is that it mentions a ‘small touchpad’ which’ll be featured on the new PlayStation Controller. The tech is somewhat similar to the PS Vita.

Here are the console’s rumoured specs -

• 4GB of DDR3 Ram  and that its GDDR5 is
• “capable of moving data at 176 Gigabye per second”
• The Ram “matches up” to Durango’s rumored 8GB.
• It will contain 4-Core AMD CPUs
• 1.6 Ghz clockspeed of AMDs ‘R10XX’ architecture

Sony will hold a conference on Feb 20 where it’s rumoured to announce its next home console.
