At the moment in the UK the regular PS4 console has the retail price of £330 therefore the white edition will cost £350.

Hiding won’t always help.

The environment is built around the 1979′s vision of the future and so is the technology. The retro future adds to the overall atmosphere of the space station, Sevastopol On the Sevastopol station there are three types of enemies: There is the androids, that unlike the Weyland  Yutani models are basic and look like plastic models, despite their appearance these enemies are ruthless and it will take everything in the players power to have to kill them. Next there are the survivors, these are just other humans that have survived the initial Xenomorph attack. Despite the fact that their primary directive is not to kill, but if they think Ripley pose a threat they will fight her. Finally there is the Xenomorph which will hunt the player down no matter what. It is essentially immortal as it cannot be killed, it can only avoided it.

There are hacking mini games in this game, and no, they are not that fun.

The gameplay of the game is as intense as it is frustrating. What I mean by this is that the Xenomorph is controlled by a very smart AI that will never do the same thing twice. The problem I have with this is that even if the player is in the most impenetrable hiding place in the game the Xenomorph will find the player, drag her out of the hiding place, and kill her. About half way through the game Ripley will be pitted against hordes of evil synthetics instead of the Xeno and after a while of dealing with them it will get very boring. This is the point the game tries to mimic modern action games which turns out to be a bad idea.

The working joes are very durable.

On paper Alien Isolation is the Alien game everyone has been waiting for. But despite the fact that there are times when you heart is pounding in you chest and the Xeno is standing mere inches in front of you, these parts only make up a small amount of the game and the other times you will be fighting synthetics or looking for a lever to turn on the power. The first 6 hours are exhilarating and intense like a survival horror game should be, but after the first half the game begins to lose its quality and become repetitive. There are multiple times in the game that would act as great endings but they just lead to the next section of the story. If you are like me and love to explore you will be pleased with what you find. Everything in the space station from showers to toilets can be interacted with. Another reward of exploring is that you will likely find upgrades for your gadgets and scrap metal to build weapons. Blueprints and finding extra pieces can mean life and death in this game.

Alien Isolation adds survival horror mechanics with the Alien universe to try and make the Alien game all of the fans have been waiting for. At first the game is an intense horror game that stays true to the original Alien movie. However not long after your first encounter with the legendary Xenomorph the game begins to overwhelm you with different types of enemies, and by the games halfway point it begins to drag on and lose sight of its survival horror mechanics.

The art style of the game is truly beautiful. The game draws the player in with the art design that was presented to them. The game contains dimly lit ice caverns, creepy dead forests, snow covered mountains, and more. Each location pops into life with a beauty that is rarely seen in many games. The dynamic weather effects and use of ambient lighting provide the mood in each environment visited. The smooth animations of Dust and the rest of the cast make the aesthetics of the game mesmerizing.

The visuals really add to the experience.

While the visuals are amazing, the combat is just as good. The game while it has a short amount of moves, they can be connected in various ways. Fighting in boss battles, is not as enticing as it is during battle with regular enemies. The banality of boss battles is seen in a lot of games, and Dust: An Elysian Tail is not an exception. The bosses tend to only have a few attacks and are not much a challenge. The combat, when not facing boss battles, is fluid. Jumping, slashing, hacking, and dodging works when controlling Dust. The gameplay controls feel right when playing as Dust and it keeps the game fresh.

The game is big on rewarding exploration and taking down enemies . Fidget, who is a anthropomorphic sidekick that assist in the game, notifies Dust when there are hidden objects. Once the player puts everything together it creates a sense of wonder, knowing that a new area is open for exploration. Every enemy that is killed, rewards the player with XP. The game only has four attributes, but once the player collects enough XP, these attributes can be powered up. Some attributes are clearly more important than others. Health is superabundant in the game, so up grading heath is not as important as up grading strength. Dust: An Elysian Tail also has a crafting system, but it is very distracting to hunt down the material needed to make something useful.

The only real major shortfall of Dust: An Elysian Tail is in the narrative. The story of the game is not compelling. The game contains some humorous banter between Dust and Fidget. Dust plays much like those mysteries badasses that are conflicted about certain aspects of their lives. It is cliched and overdone in many video games, especially in protagonist. The voice acting is solid in the game, each character is done well and provide them with some personality, instead of feeling like they are hollow characters.

There are many peaks and joyful moments in Dust: An Elysian Tail. Dust is not a great character, poor crafting system, and the story is not very compelling, but there are more positives in this game than negatives. The gorgeous environments, fun progress, enticing exploration and fun combat makes this game a pleasurable experience. Dust: An Elysian Tail struggles at times, but it is filled with charm.

The construction site itself is empty but will soon come to life with all sorts of enemies and objectives. This is believed to be the construction site for an upcoming DLC known as The Dark Below. Gamers can access the area by simply going through a holographic wall but it will take a bit of traveling and combat fighting to enter the area.

The whole “undercover cop gets in too deep” storyline has been done a million times in both games and movies, to the point where it’s hard to watch a hardboiled detective story unfold without rolling your eyes and facetiously predicting the plot. “He’s a bad guy,” you say, as the veteran actor with the “and…” billing is introduced as either the hero’s mentor, superior or weirdly older friend. “Here comes the ‘difficult moral choice’”, you remark glibly, as the hero is forced to choose between his brother cops and the criminal family he has come to respect. “I bet he’s gonna die next,” you sneer, as your other half silently weighs the pros and cons of your relationship in their head.

In a gaming sphere that currently adores sandbox and open world games, too few gamers would recognise the name Wei Shen. Sleeping Dogs' lead is a troubled character who makes the likes of Aiden Pearce seem annoyingly lacking in the personality department, and the aforementioned title that our chaotic cop comes from is often similarly overlooked.

Reports were made from The Wall Street Journal that Sony has a factory in Shangahi that will begin packaging PlayStation consoles starting December. Microsoft was the first of the big three to make it’s way into China after the ban with the Xbox One. According to reports, Microsoft managed to pass 100,000 units for the Xbox One in the first sales week.

We’re very curious to see how well the PlayStation 4 does within China with Microsoft’s Xbox One already available. However, gamers within China will not be getting some of the big name titles due to the strict censorship rules placed on video games within China.

The Experience event was revealed from the PlayStation Blog by PlayStation social media manager Sid Shuman. This event will be open to the public for those that are 18 years or older and will contains all sorts of content to view and try out.

From panels, meeting developers, trying out upcoming video games and getting a sneak peek at what is to come for PlayStation’s 2015 software slate, this will be perfect for Sony fans in the area or willing to travel to the event.

More information on the event is stated to be shared on this October 20th. It’s unsure as to how many tickets will be available for purchase but the event is being held at a “huge” venue where a one day pass will run $50 while two-day tickets will run you $90.
