Details Finally Released For Planned BioShock PS Vita Game

If you can recall E3 2011, you might remember the BioShock video game said to be released for the PS Vita. This was an amazing announcement, even though there was no gameplay, screenshots or details, a BioShock title was going to make its own debut on the Sony handheld system. Fast forward to today. Irrational Games is no longer a development studio, 2K Games owns the rights to BioShock and there has yet to be any update on the video game. Most deem the title as cancelled but we’re finally getting word as to what Ken Levine had in mind for the title.

Head of Irrational Games and creator of BioShock, Ken Levine finally opened up to what he originally had in mind for the PS Vita title. The news came in form of tweets so only little bits of information was released.

BioShock for the PS Vita was set pre-rapture and slightly odd enough, it was set to play out like Final Fantasy Tactics. The game was being built for the PS Vita so everything would have worked nicely and nothing would be compromised.

No screenshots or gameplay has been released and it’s unknown if Irrational Games had started development at all for the video game title. For now, 2K Games own the rights for BioShock so it’s up to the development studio to pick up on this idea or start something new.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel Announced

A new Borderlands video game is in the works. Known as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel this game happens to be only for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Surprisingly, 2K games isn’t bringing this latest title in the Borderlands series on the current generation video game consoles.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place on Pandora’s Moon. Set between Borderlands and Borderlands 2, you play as one of the following lieutenants under Jack’s guidance: Athena The Gladiator, Wilhelm The Enforcer, Nisha The Lawbringer or Claptrap.

You can expect all the great fun gameplay from the past video games but with new loot and weaponry. Gearbox along with 2K Australia is developing the game with a release date slanted for fall of 2014. Check out the recent promotional images for Borderlands down below.

False Tweet Reveals Incorrect Borderlands 2 Release For PS Vita

Borderlands 2 fans and Vita owners have been let down as a false tweet by 2K Games shows off the launch date. There has been an urge of knowing just when we’ll get our hands on the Borderlands 2 title on the PS Vita but alas news of any upcoming announcement has been slim to none. Early this morning 2K Games has tweeted the launch release of Borderlands 2 for the Vita which was said to be March 18^th 2014. However, that date has now been revealed to be completely false.

2K Games has apologized for the confusion but we’re now curious as to what the date was originally planned to be. Nevertheless, we can expect the Boarderlands 2 title for the PS Vita sometime this year which was the original announcement from Gamescom 2013. Apparently, there is also no news as to if the Boarderlands 2 title will be cross-buy meaning that if you purchased the title for the PlayStation 3 then the game will be unlocked free to download for the Vita or vice versa.

Currently, Borderlands 2 has been a collaboration to make its way onto the Vita with 2K Games, Sony and Iron Galaxy Studios all pitching in to get the title running smoothly. We’re positive that the development team is bringing in new ideas on how the gameplay will play out with the different Vita’s features. Once we hear more information on the Borderlands 2 Vita title we’ll keep you posted.

2K Games Reveals Pre-Order Bonuses For Evolve

2K Games has revealed the pre-order bonuses for Turtle Rock’s upcoming IP Evolve. The development team may be best known for their Left 4 Dead series and you can bet that the same cooperative gameplay has been brought over in the development of Evolve. By pre-ordering the game, players will be given access to the Monster Expansion Pack.

The Monster Expansion Pack comes with the Savage Goliath skin, seen above in the photo. With the new skin, the expansion pack will grant players a completely new monster character. Much like the Left 4 Dead series, the game is best played with friends as a four-player crew will take on the hunt for aliens. Each hunter will have their very own special abilities and items. Another player will be deemed as the monster, much like the hunters, monsters will also be varied in different various abilities.

2K Games has announced that the upcoming Turtle Rock title Evolve, will be coming out this Fall for the PlayStation 4 and other platforms.

2K Will Not Be At E3 2013

2K Games will not have a booth on the show floor at the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo this summer, the publisher has announced on its website.

“At 2K, we’re excited for the new opportunities coming with the next generation of hardware, and are hard at work preparing our announced titles for release,” the company explained.

“While 2K will not have a booth on the show floor at this year’s E3 conference, we will have a lot of great news coming your way this spring,” the statement continues.

2K’s slate of upcoming titles includes the Brave New World expansion for Civilization V, WWE 14, NBA 2K14, and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.

Though 2K Games will not have a presence on the E3 2013 show floor, parent company Take-Two Interactive will hold its typical business meetings at the event.

“We are going to have a meeting room in the upper concourse level and we’ll be doing some business meetings as we usually do. 2K is not participating,” a Take-Two spokesperson confirmed with Joystiq.

Borderlands 2 release date announced with new trailer

Gearbox announced the release date for Borderlands 2 today, confirming a September 18 release in the US, and a September 21 release in the UK.

Pre-ordering will give access to the Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key and the Vault Hunter’s Relic.

“The Gearbox Gun Pack is a collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora,” Gearbox revealed.

“The Golden Key is an in-game item used to unlock a rare item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest found in Borderlands 2. The Vault Hunter’s Relic is an in-game item that boosts players’ gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends.”
