PS4 Hard Drive 500GB and Controller Price Confirmed

During the E3 conference, Sony showed off their PS4 and slapped on the price, but they seemed to have left out the Hard Drive size of their next-gen console and the price of the controller as well.

Due to a SCEI Press Release including all specification of the Sony’s next-gen components, it is confirmed that the internal hard drive of the PS4 is 500GB. We were expecting Sony to have a better HDD capacity, considering that downloadable games and contents are on the rise, thus gamers needing more storage.

We estimated that the price of the PS4’s controller would be around $70 due to the touch pad that was added on. Turns out the Dualshock 4 Wireless controller will cost $60 MSRP. It is a fair price knowing that a lot more features were added on and the previous generation before; the price of the controller was also $60 during some time.

What do you gamers think about the PS4 HDD and controller price?

Sony Plans Big PS4 Reveal Before E3 2013

Sony has plans on revealing the PS4 soon. You can expect the next-gen PlayStation 4 console reveal this month or possibly in early May, a source familiar with the company’s marketing strategy told PCMag this week.

At the PlayStation Meeting in February, the 3D PS Move, PS4 specs, and the DualShock 4 controller was revealed. The only thing missing was the PS4 itself.

According to the source, Sony may be parceling out information about its coming game console to build up buzz. Some industry watchers anticipated another reveal or at least some PS4 news at last week’s Game Developer Conference, but the company only tipped some details about the underlying hardware, Ars Technica reported.

GDC was the last big stage for the company to talk about the PS4 before the E3 gaming conference in June, unless Sony manufactures its own event. That’s precisely what Sony plans to do, according to the source, who said late April/early May will be the likeliest time frame for a full-blown launch of the PS4.

Video: PS4 Wireless DualShock 4 Controllers In Glass Cases

Kotaku has posted a video of four PS4 controllers in glass cases for viewing. The video shows the controllers from every angle.

During the PlayStation Meeting, we all thought the blue bar on the back was the only color for the PS Move 3D sensor, but the video and screenshots show each controller has a different color bar. The sensor bar changes colors to set a “mood.” That means you don’t have to go through the trouble of buying different controllers just for a certain color sensor bar.

The analog sticks are the part that’s questionable. It looks like there is no cushion at all for your fingers. Hopefully, the new controller will be hands friendly.
