When I first read about this, I had to look twice to make sure I was reading the right number. I mean 12 GB is so freaking small, my phone’s SD card has more memory than that!

The item is already “In Stock” at a Canadian retailer called Future Shop for $199.99.

I find that price pretty ridiculous or $200, I seriously think they should just sell it for $100. What’s the point of buying a newer version of a PS3 for $199, when you can just get the previous versions for maybe $50 more with a couple hundred more Gigabytes.

Okay maybe it is reasonable to those who don’t use a lot of memory, meaning they don’t download anything at all. But c’mon, with all the great deals we get though the PlayStation store, how can someone not download something so awesome.

I just don’t see the point in buying this, especially when the PS4 is coming out in a matter of months. I do believe it looks a little nicer, it’s just not convincing enough, especially with that puny 12 GB.

Artists created a stunning video of how the technology will work and how it will look like, if Sony ever decides to invest in the headset.

The technology is so powerful that we can already imagine how the PS4 Oculus Rift will change the way PS4 games are played. Games such as Killzone: Shadowfall and Drive Club will be even better than before.

Recent rumors have indicated that the PS4 would not be playable to the general public during the important event.

Turns out that retailers were apparently told that the console would not be hands on to the public.

Sony tore down those rumors by informing videogamer.com that the PS4 will indeed be playable at the upcoming event.

Sony has stated that Gamescom is going to be an oppurtunity for them to ”focus… on PS4 and its games line-up once again.”

Since the holidays are pretty much around the corner, many are expecting Sony to announce the launch date for the PS4.

Bloomberg reported that the CEO talked to investors at a meeting last week, where he explains that the pricing of the PS4 has a better advantage than the PS3 did, so they should not suffer as big of a loss.

House states, “We will not generate anything like the losses we did for the PlayStation 3,” because investment for the next gen console is “much, much smaller.”

Sony has yet to report their game division losses for their next financial period, due to changes on currency exchange rates.

PS4 sales might be able to compensate for the losses, but their games unit is not expected to break even this year. Sony expects their earning to “deteriorate significantly.”

At the onset he announced PlayStation All-Stars Island. Then, a candid exchange with a fan was thrown in.

Asked whether the PS4 came with some associated goodies on launch day, Yoshida replied, “You’ll get bragging rights,” which probably implies that there won’t be any perks associated with the PS4 on day one of launch.

Taking a jab at Xbox One which comes with a sticker in the box, Yoshida said, “Every PS4 will come with a Sony logo on it that’s exclusive to PlayStation.”

Gamers have been very inquisitive about the name changing on the PSN that they have been presented it. Yoshida, however, replied, “That’s people’s favorite question that I do not answer .” – complete with a smiley showing his fun approach to the question and hinting that he has not totally vowed not to answer the question later on.

Other details that were revealed includes that the PS4 will not come with an ethernet cable and streaming of PS Vita games will not be possible on the PS4.

For those are new to gaming, Sony XDev collaborates with independent developers to develop games exclusive to the PlayStation platforms. Their collaborations till now include those with Quantic Dream, Relentless Software and Sumo Digital.

According to Sony’s development site, “XDev has built up an enviable track record of innovation and new IP generation, winning three BAFTA awards for “Buzz”, Develop Industry Excellence Awards for Best New IP twice with “MotorStorm” and “Buzz”, and in North America, winning eight awards from the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) with “LittleBigPlanet” and its developer Media Molecule.”

Eurogamer has confirmed that retailers such as Amazon and ShopTo are a few of sellers who has informed their consumers of the news.

ShopTo has released a statement on their website, “Sony have confirmed all PlayStation 4 pre-orders placed from 6th August will now not be guaranteed for launch. You can still pre-order PS4 with us in case we receive cancellations and can fulfill your order for launch.”

Amazon has even posted , “Please note – due to high demand, orders placed for the PlayStation 4 console from 6th August may be received after release date. We will ship orders as soon as we receive sufficient inventory.”

When asked about the matter, ShopTo mentions that the shortage may apply to all European retailers that are selling the PS4, and the statement came straight from Sony themselves.

The title will release on August 13th for PC digitally through Steam and is currently priced at £24.99, but the price may just be a placeholder for now.

As for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, the game will be available digitally and even on a physical disc.

The developers announced the release date through a tweet:
