Sucker Punch revealed that the standalone DLC for inFAMOUS: Second Son, First Light, will be released on August 27, 2014. The DLC puts players into the role of Delsin with her neon-lit powers. This being a standalone DLC, gamers won’t be required to have inFAMOUS: Second Son to play the game.

A retail source claims the sale of PS4′s has went up 106 percent just last week when their exclusive title Infamous: Second Son was released for the next-gen console, shooting it straight to number 1.

The results are very good when comparing it to the launch of TitanFall, which made Microsoft’s Xbox One console go up 96 percent.

Today, Infamous: Second Son managed to top number 1 in the UKIE GfK Chart-Track All Formats Top 40.

Jaime made a statement to Gamespot about his departure from Sucker Punch.

I appreciate all the well-wishes on the news that I am leaving Sucker Punch, but please don’t take the timing as cause for concern about Second Son–it’s a great game that I am proud to have on my resume and I can’t wait for everyone to play it–or Sucker Punch–a studio on the rise with a bright future–or Sony–a great organization with some of the savviest, most pro-gamer executives in the business. And while I am honored to be mentioned in the same articles as legendary designers like Amy Hennig and Stig Asmussen, please don’t look too hard for some sinister pattern.

The truth is that any creative, vibrant industry is necessarily volatile; the only sure bet is that the next few years will not look the same as the last. Change is part of the job, but along with the upheaval and uncertainty, there’s opportunity and new challenges. It’s an exciting time to be a free agent and I’m going to go see what’s out there. Simple as that…

He gave an idea of what the game would have lost if it were to run at 60fps:

“Resolution. I mean, that’s the easy answer, right? That’s what PC games do.”

“I wouldn’t want to compromise any of the particle effects, as I think that’s what makes Delsin’s powers look alive and real… and you can’t sacrifice any of that.”

Fox says that a higher frame rate can be harmful to the game’s effects as well:

“Cruising around town and using those abilities is the chief joy of the game, so that’s not going to be it, and we’re certainly not going to cut down on the detail in the world.”

“What would you expect would go away in a game? Resolution seems like the obvious thing.”

He goes on to say that they would also have to decrease the number of civilians on the streets:

“You need people on the streets, or you don’t feel like the hero, unless you’re saving people, you’re just some crazy super killer.”

Resolution is one of the biggest things that would be affected if they would’ve made the frame rate any higher, and we all know how people react to graphics.

Even though the PS4 is a strong machine, developer Sucker Punch wasn’t inclined to setting back the detailed graphic effects, just to speed up the frame rate. It is evident that they are doing what is best for the game.

The Product Manager of SCE UK Josh Walker was the one who delivered the exciting news:

“We have high expectations for Infamous: Second Son and are excited by the level of pre-orders which are exceeding that of The Last of Us at this point in the run up to its launch,

“We can already see it benefiting from the goodwill and of buzz surrounding the PlayStation 4 and expect Second Son to be the biggest game in the Infamous series to date.”

Infamous is a series that is loved by many, and we expect the next game to be huge, due to the many fans that look forward to he next-gen versions of the game.

Sucker Punch brand development director Ken Schramm is on a tour to China for the publicity of the game and in an interview with Asian site UDN said that though Delsin, the main protagonist in the game will compete with NPCs along his journey in the re-imagined Seattle city, but the game won’t have any multiplayer option.

Also raw gameplay footage of InFamous Second Son has emerged via the same press trip of China and is now posted on YouTube. You can see an early insight of how the game works by viewing the video below.

The developers at Sucker Punch are painstakingly giving their best efforts in recreating a metropolitan environment with minute details which surrounds the population and makes the city feel alive in every dimension possible. Particularly Seattle mostly being damp due to rains, the game version of the city will replicate precise shades of rain effects, stunning instant reflections on the city showered with sun rays, puddles on roads, variable density of fog, shinning walls with wet textures and all these details working at 1080p.
