Cage says PS3 has “much more” power to use still

Quantic Dream’s David Cage believes Playstation 3 has still alot of power.  There is still a lot to do with it, people will be surprised.”

We all know Playstation 3 is only  in its sixth year, everyday there is something new discover about it. The  PS3 is a horsepower, into the lifecycle  the machine  still have plenty of surprise to draw out. During the GDC this week, judging by the  beautiful kara tech demo, It show playstation 3, it’s lifecycle  has so much it can do.  Dream’s David Cage told GamesIndustry International that Sony’s playstation 3 hardware has “much more” to offer.

When asked IGN and the gaming industry Do We Need Next-Gen?   he answered

“We had thought we had done a pretty decent job on Heavy Rain, and we just realized we didn’t do anything with the hardware. We could do much more than that, and this is what we intend to do in the near future,” Cage said. “There’s still a lot to do with the PlayStation 3 I’m telling you.”
“Much more, to be honest with you. One of the reasons why we didn’t show this [Kara video] a year ago was that we had discussions with Sony, and they weren’t sure that we were going to show after that was going to look better than Kara. It took us a year to prove what we were going to show was a thousand times better than that.”

“So we’re very far from seeing everything the PS3 can do, it’s very powerful hardware. There is still a lot to do with it, people will be surprised.”

“That’s difficult to answer. Developers use the hardware in different ways. We put the focus on very close shots and the lighting is very important to us. Other developers consider what matters the size of the landscape you can display. So different developers have different views of the hardware,” he said.

He added, “Personally, I consider it takes two to three games on the same path to really see what you can do with the hardware. The teams discover the hardware, they start to use it. The more it goes, the more you can discover what you can do with it.”

If PS3 is that much powerful, I believe we wont see sony next generation console anytime soon. At this rate, PS3 has alot to offer. Lately alot of rumors being heating on the net about Sony next gen console but we learned “The PS3″ is ridiculously has alot to offer people would suprised. I believe we wont see the PS4 anytime soon. Imagine what the PS4 will do? Leave a comment below tell us what you think about The PS3

  1. in fact, developments are jusr already reached a 50% or 60% about whole ps3 capacity. Unchanted and heavy rain are example of it, but they would bring better and improved games in the future. I dont think sony tries to produce a new console when the currently has a lot of potencial and everybody know just now they’re seeing the money and the big releases right now. This is, of course, the moment of PS3 and they dont gonna wasted it. A better ps means more production costs and hard prices for customers. Even know, when a just launched Street fighter x tekken or Ultimate maverl Vs Capcom and else in the stores i dont think they’re planning to lost money in a new console.

  2. oh yeah, SOOOO much power, but only 1/4GB of RAM? Seriously? my computer has 16GB and 3GB of video ram. ps3 games are good, but look way worse. oh yeah, ps3 is also limited to 24 player multiplayer, we get 64! WOOOOO!

    1.  are you dumb? PC is always better as you can upgrade it with better hardware any time as you wish. dont compare it with a pc. And yes, xbox’ graphic is much better

  4. sony dont need a new console yet. when xbox come with their next console sony can say “wellcome to the next gen games. it was about freaking time!”. microsoft has been pulling game quality back long enough. ps3 is the next gen console it has been all along. sony is so ahead.
