According to the specs released by Microsoft, it appears the Xbox one is less powerful than Sony’s recently announced PlayStation 4.

The specs which include 8 gigs of ram appears to be outdated compared to the PS4. The Xbox One is using GDDR3 8 GB RAM while the PS4 is using the much faster GDD5 8 GB Ram.

 Do you think the PS4 will perform better than the new Xbox? Only time will tell.

    If you know anything about computers you would know that with the speeds that DDR3 performs at, we really are not going to notice much difference.

  10. Well just like all multi-platform games they will round it off to the lowest common denominator. So really doesn't matter if I want true next gen build a PC. Otherwise PS4 and Xbox One seem like great buys to me.

Look up cloud computing in which xbox will use and then you'll know which one is better in the end, but I have both and will have both when they come out but instead of 2 ps3's and one xbox, it will shift the other way when the new ones come out plus I hate waiting a month for black ops expansion pack etc.

  26. Your post is inaccurate. You are saying the PS4 has 7GB of RAM because you are assuming it will use 1GB for it's operating system, yet you assume the XBOX ONE will use none of its RAM for its 3 OPERATING SYSTEMS!!!? Don't comment if you don't know what you are speaking about please.

  31. It's a matter of few seconds in real world scenario, which warrants enough reason to go to ps4, i don't like xbox controller as i've never played with it. If i ever buy a console it's going to be ps4, but it's still not as good as PC, i hope consoles get mouse and keyboard compatibility.

Haha stupid console gamers as usual u guys don't know anything about hardware in terms of ram ps4 is stripped down by Xbox that's right Xbox sports a multitasking ram ddr3 but ps4 doesn't have that instead it relays on gpu ram that's why gddr5 so u see Xbox has 8gb of multitasking ram + some amount of gddr5 ram which currently unknow as for processor also we have no idea but seeing kinect,exclusives,entertainment content Xbox smashes ps4 as for as now if ps 4 has beaten Xbox only with dual shock controller

  34. 1) Xbox one is DDR3 RAM , not GDDR3.
    2) PS4 is GDDR5.

    GDDR5 is based on DDR3 SDRAM memory which has double the data lines compared to DDR2 SDRAM. It is just a variant of DDR3 ram. System memory (DDR3) benefits from low latency (tight timings) at the expense of bandwidth, GDDR5's case is the opposite. Latency is not a big issue for Graphics cards compared to RAM for CPU and other things. Wait for benchmarks.

    we still do not know the real world benchmarks here between both RAMs.

    I mean are you people seriously okay with this new xbox, pretty much being exactly what was rumored, which is an always-connected, anti-used games, underpowered "console".

    Kinect REQUIRED? Along with the DVR, just how "cheap" is this going to be? If it turns out to be $650 and everyone in the US STILL buys it, then the painting will be on the wall for me.   46. You DO recall "SimCity" using this 'cloud computing' feature, right? They off-loaded non-essential code / processing onto their servers as you played.. Remember how well that worked? >.> Also, this goes back to 'requiring' both an internet connection AND reliable game servers for it to work as intended.

The only difference Sony is actually sincere with its' customers and notifies them to be careful, not cover it up and if it leaks blame it on someone else. Xbox 360 had better social media and both systems only had a handful of exclusive games that made any real difference. The GAMES will ultimately decided which system is better.   79. heres what I think, you ready?
    there both great new innovative systems and have come a long ways since the ps3 and xbox360. They both have much to offer and it all really depends what features you most likely would pay to use for. There both great systems, me personally I will be picking up a ps4 day one with watch dogs and who knows what else ill pick up with it. Ill most likely be buying a xbox one a half a year to a year later because I'm sure they will have certain exclusives I will want to play also. I mean for god sakes stop nit picking at the systems and just be happy they are finally coming this year and we will have awesome new games and technology to play with :) I know ill be grining the whole way. But ya both of these systems have lots to bring to the table and its up to you to decide which system has more of what you want and willing to pay for.
