George Andreas Chooses Sony Over Microsoft

Rare veteran George Andreas has left Microsoft to join Sony.

Andreas played a key role in the development of the Kinect hardware, Kinect Sports 1 and Kinect Sports: Season 2. Andreas also played a key role in development of Xbox 360 launch games Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero. He joined Sony this month as creative director of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, working out of SCEE’s London office.

During his 16 years at Rare he worked on most of the legendary studio’s games, including various Banjo titles (Viva Pinata, Donkey Kong 64, GoldenEye, and Killer Instinct Gold).

      It prove Microsoft only want the developers to make Kinect games and has no freedom. Why you think Bungie left because Microsoft only wanted them to make Halo Halo Halo.
      Why you think Microsoft don’t have many IP because they don’t give devs they own freedom.

      It has nothing to do with that.
      X360 has way better online than PS3 and I own both.
      I own every system on the market.

      2. actually its online isn’t better. Seeing as you have to pay for its service, that is an instant down grade. Hence why and i will stress this forever PS3 SALES HAVE SURPASSED XBOX360 SIGNIFICANTLY IN THE PAST FEW YEARS

          PS3 has not outsold 360 in Sales. It outsold it in shipped numbers because the demand is higher.

          1. How does the demand higher not translate to more sales? Also, a significantly higher number of xboxes that have been sold have broken, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there are more working PS3s. Online is exactly the same within each game, for example COD is the same. There is also PS+ which has party chat for a monthly fee, same as xbox. With PS3 you get more for the free level, and about the same at the paid level.

          2. Demand being higher results Sony shipping more PS3 Units to Retailers so that Retailers can sell more PS3 to meet demands.

          3. You get a lot more free games with Playstation for the >OPTIONAL< membership.

            Xbox Gold is required to play multiplayer, talk in party chat, and buy games on the marketplace. And it's about 8$ a month, and I see about 3 – 6 free games on the marketplace, and they don't often make more.

            Playstation Plus (Again, OPTIONAL) membership is about 5$ a month. With this you get about 8 – 18 games a month free, you get MANY discounts, you can try a lot of hit games for an hour free, you get access to most public betas automaticaly, and with the cloud, it automaticaly uploads and downloads
            your saves, and automaticaly gets the next updates.

          4. Free games that could not meet sales expectation on ps3.

            Yet none of sony owned games sell over 5 million at full price even at reduce price they don’t except uncharted and gran turismo.

          I only have Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary
          Minecraft which PS3 don’t have
          Perfect Dark N64 HD releases
          Forza Motorsports 4 > Gran Turismo 5

  9. here’s something we all can agree they both provide us with entertainment, in the future Sony and Xbox should combine to make a kickass gamesystem that doesn’t charge for internet, cross game chat, good digital download service, and paid service plan to have higher perks than what non payers get, i mean that sounds like the most ideal system to me.

  11. Lets just put it like this. SONY makes the best systems ever made. We have destroyed the loser box in just about everything. So when the PS4 comes it WILL be the best system to buy.

  13. if you think free games and online service is better then you are broke and stupid. xbox live is better because you have to pay for it. its security is wayy better than PSN. PSN gets hacked wayy too many times. i have had Xbox live from eh very beginning and no problems. both systems are great at what they do no doubt about that. i ilove them both but im more of an xbox guy. shooting and racing games feel better on a 360 and that controller is sooo comfortable. the PS controller sucks.it always had. i only like playstaion for its exclusive games. microsoft makes way more sales on xbox gear more than sony does with playstation. and this has been proven. playsation just has a higher demand on the console itself but as of other gear, it lacks the sales. with the 360, the sales are always up from games, concoles, the kinect, keyboards, headsets, limited edition consoles and much more. also the online play is much more smoother

  14. I say PS3 surpasses 360 by far. A lot of ppl like to argue that Xbox 360 is better. Personally I don’t think so. I would never waste my money buying a 360 however I have had a few family members that have bought 360′s and had to return them more than once because of defects.

  15. Another thing is that a lot of 360 players and Bill Gates himself are pissed because they can’t get Dust 514 for the 360. Guess who has Dust 514? PS3! lol Xbox 360 can’t handle the graphics.PS3 can and has a big enough processor as well. For now it’s just an open beta but it’s gonna drop eventually. Not really my type of game I’m use to playing but I have played it the past 3 weekends and it’s pretty fun.Just confusing of all the stuff you can do building your character.This is a sweet massive game.Can’t wait for when it drops “for FREE” in the Playstation store.
