The PS4 is coming this fall. The PS4 launch promises to be an eventful one with the top developers and publishers of the industry coming together to provide us with a roster of games to choose from which are mouth watering to say the least.

We have compared and contrasted the games under question to be released at the PS4 launch to come up with a list of 6 launch titles which you should definitely buy when the PS4 launches.

[textblock style="4"]1.Knack[/textblock]

Officially announced on February 20, 2013 during PlayStation Meeting 2013, Knack is a action video game developed by Japan Studio in collaboration with PS4 lead architect Mark Cerny.

The game is all about the central character Knack, a mysterious creature created by a human doctor who found a way to bind together ancient relics and give it a consciousness. Knack possesses amazing powers; he can transform himself into a gigantic machine by incorporating more relics into his body. This proves instrumental in the fight against the Goblins who have invaded the planet and also of much help in the long run.

With a refreshing concept and promise of a great storyline, Knack is definitely a launch title to buy.

[textblock style="4"]2.Killzone: Shadow Fall[/textblock]

Developed by Guerilla Games as a PS4 launch title, KillZone: Shadow Fall is the sixth title in the series and the fourth for consoles.

The game is set 30 years after the events of Killzone 3. War still rages on with the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance allowing Helghast refugees to settle on the planet Vekta. The storyline primarily incorporates a “cold war” between Vektans and the Helghast.

Killzone fans will definitely be the first to pick up this game. Definitely one to buy.

[textblock style="4"]3. Battlefield 4[/textblock]

Developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts, Battlefield 4 is a sequel to Battlefield 3 and the 13th installment in the series.

The single player campaign of the game takes place in the year 2020, six years after its predecessor. The player controls “Recker”, a member of a U.S. Special Operations squad. There have been a number of tweaks in the game compared to Battlefield 3. The players can now use dual-scoped weapons with different firing modes. Targets can now be marked on the map. Players will have more survival capabilities like diving underwater to avoid detection and firing a sidearm while swimming.

Arguably the best looking game on the PS4 yet, Battlefield 4 promises to dazzle us with its impressive graphics and gameplay. Definitely one to pick at launch.

[textblock style="4"]4.Watch Dogs[/textblock]

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft, Watch Dogs is a open world action adventure stealth video game. The game centers around the player’s superhuman ability to hack into a multitude of electronic systems to obtain information or destroy them.

The players assume the role of a vigilante named Aiden Pierce who has to complete various objectives by using his special ability of hacking into electronic devices connected to the city’s central operating system. The gameplay utilizes a combination of stealth and Parkour, along with mechanics of cover based third person shooters. The multiplayer aspect of the game is also an extensive one in which other players can control surveillance cameras in an attempt to hack the main player.

With a innovative storyline, single player and an interesting multiplayer element, Watch Dogs is definitely a game to pick up at launch.

[textblock style="4"]5.DriveClub[/textblock]

Developed by Evolution Studios exclusively for the PS4, DriveClub is a racing video game which was announced during the PlayStation 4 press conference on 20 February 2013.

DriveClub focuses on on-road racing rather than off-road racing which was a specialty of the previous game from the same developer, MotorStorm. It will not be a racing simulator like Gran Turismo but will be more of a rival to games like Grid 2. The multiplayer element will be one to watch out for with players managing racing teams with other players.

Fans of the racing genre will definitely benefit by picking up DriveClub at the PS4 launch.

  18. Eugene Tee says:

IMO, AC3 was rushed because they wanna use the title AC4 on PS4. That or maybe because they just wanna earn some bucks before focusing on next gen consoles. The main point here is that AC3 was rushed considering how amazing AC4 is in terms of its features (especially the size of the open world). The focus has always been AC4.
