The setting of the game is 200 years after the previous installment in the series, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game met with critical and commercial success, shipping over 7 million copies in the first week of release. The game is set in the fictional Liberty City, which bases itself heavily on New York City. The game follows the adventures of Nico Bellic, who is in search for the ‘American Dream’ but gets himself into a world of crime. GTA IV features open world gameplay and derives its elements from driving games and third person shooters. The game attracted mass appeal due to the overwhelming popularity of the previous games in the series. GTA IV broke industry records with sales of around 3.6 million units on its first day of release and grossing more than $500 million in revenue in the first week.

The player controls the character of the leader of the Third Street Saints as they battle it out with three gangs in the fictional city of Steelport. The element of insanity finds prominence in the game as the over the top humor elements are scattered abundantly.
The game was mostly well received by critics and fans who praised it’s intriguing gameplay and quirky humor. The game shipped over 4 million copies till date. Don’t give this one a miss.

Developed by United Front Games in conjunction with Square Enix London Studios and published by Square Enix, Sleeping Dogs is a 2012 action adventure open world video game. Released on August 14, 2012, the game takes place in Hong Kong and focuses on an undercover operation to infiltrate the Triads.
Sleeping Dogs is played from an over-the-shoulder, third person perspective. The player assumes the role of Wei Shen, a Chinese-American police officer who is tasked with infiltrating the Sun On Yee Triad organization. The storyline missions in the game are essential to progress through the game, but as in other open world games, players can complete them at their leisure. The open world is properly utilized in the game as the player can participate in fights, races and also possibly have girlfriends.
With a great story and amazing open world gameplay elements, not one to give the miss on the PS3. The game takes place in a modern day world.

Infamous 2 is a 2012 PlayStation 3 exclusive developed by Sucker Punch Productions. The game is a direct sequel to the 2009 Infamous. The game takes place in a modern day world where people with superhuman abilities exist and are termed ‘Conduits’.
The player assumes the role of Cole MacGrath who prepares to face the Beast, a prophesied being of untold power. The setting of the game is after a few months from the first game in the series wherein clandestine organisations seek to create and employ Conduits for their own personal benefits and view Cole as one of the most powerful, attempting to gain his aid or eliminate him.
The game managed to hold its own sales-wise and was possesses a great story. Its open-world offers gamers a bevy of side quests and other activities making the best PS3 exclusive which features an open-world environment. Definitely one you should play on the PS3.

Assassin’s Creed III is a 2012 action adventure video game from the house of Ubisoft. The game is the fifth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series, and a direct sequel to 2011′s Assassin’s Creed: Revelations.
The plot of the game is set in a fictional history of real world events. It is set in the 18th century and follows the adventures of Connor, the ancestor of story protagonist Desmond Miles. The framing story is set in the 21st century and Desmond tries to relive the memories of his ancestors. The game is played from the third person perspective and primarily focuses on Desmond and Connor’s combat and stealth abilities. The game also has a multiplayer element.
Assassin’s Creed III was hugely successful and sold 12 million copies worldwide and features one of the most diverse open worlds for gamers to try out. Definitely a must play on the PS3.
