PlayStation 4 may feature real-time dynamic destruction

PlayStation 4 may feature real-time dynamic destruction

A video has been showing what playstation 4 may feature in real-time dynamic. This video  shows a team’s new destruction prototype. Here, objects are fractured on the fly. There is no limit of how many times pieces can be fractured. Also, the fracture pattern depends on the impact location. The original objects as well as the pieces are allowed to be non-convex which is an additional challenge.

This Might Be How PS4′s Graphics Will Look

Codemasters’ lead artist Mike Smith and Dead End Thrills techmaster Duncan Harris present a glimpse of the future for what PS4′s graphics will look like. They also stated what they’ll be capable of in terms of scale, lighting, landscapes, AI and procedural generation. The magazines claim this will be “six times the power”, Codemasters’ Smith says: “If you look at the amount of effort that goes into lighting at companies like Pixar, we’re quite some way away from being able to leverage that control. (But) once we have a toolset to do that, art directors can go crazy.

GameChanging Will Put The PS4 Ahead Of The Game?

GameChanging Will Put The PS4 Ahead Of The Game?

We highly doubt Sony will go back to their old ways since the PS Vita is pushing towards cross-platform play since the PS Vita is being called a “GameChanger” and also pushes towards cross-platform play. The PlayStation 3 didn’t have things like Party Chat, custom soundtrack support, and multiple programs running simultaneously when it could have. We believe the PlayStation 4 will be much, much more than the PS3 and will be the number one console. As for the PS Vita, it could play a big role in being the next handheld that will bring the PS4 to new heights.

In Terms of Tech PlayStation 4 is “Essentially a Computer”

Digital Foundry’s Richard Leadbetter claims to be a reputable source of  Sony’s next  upcoming console, “PlayStation 4 “Essentially a Computer”

“It’s not about exotic, groundbreaking hardware anymore, it’s all about creating the best possible games machine with an enviable set of development tools – and it’s an approach that has already yielded results,” Leadbetter wrote. “While PlayStation Vita may lack a stand-out killer app, I still think that it’s set the bar in terms of overall quality and quantity over and above any console launch I’ve seen in over 21 years in the business. Extrapolating that same philosophy towards PlayStation 4 makes a PC-style approach to Sony’s next console seem very likely indeed.”

PS4: Say Goodbye To The Cell Processor

PS4: Say Goodbye To The Cell Processor

The PlayStation 4 will not use Sony’s Cell processor nor any possible successor to the vaunted chipset that was introduced to the world through the PlayStation 3. Cell was not what Sony hoped that it would be. It never managed to make the PS3 appear to be significantly more powerful than the Xbox 360. AMD might engineer the main processing and graphics chips for the machine.
